**What You Will Do**
**This position will be filled at the Administrative Assistant 3 level.**
The Plutonium Capability Transuranic Waste Management Group (NPI-6) is seeking a highly motivated, customer service focused and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team.
The Plutonium Capability Transuranic Waste Management group (NPI-6) supports transuranic (TRU) waste producing processes to achieve plutonium mission success at PF-4, the analytical chemistry and materials science support facilities (CMR and RLUOB), and the solid and liquid waste facilities (RLWTF, and WCRRF). NPI-6 ensures safe, efficient and compliant management of TRU materials destined for final disposal at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad, NM. NPI-6 supports a variety of defense and non-defense programs including pit production and surveillance, ARIES, NASA heat sources, integration with ALDPI in support of construction, and other programs.
NPI-6's primary mission is to support National Security and National Science Missions for LANL, through the Associate Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP), to successfully execute its mission assignments involving nuclear, science, technology and weapons components. **Administrative Assistant 3**
As an Administrative Assistant you will provide administrative support for a wide variety of generalized office-related activities and interact with the NPI Staff Operations Manager as well as internal and external Laboratory customers. You will review, prioritize, track, and distribute incoming and outgoing messages and actions, in both electronic and hard-copy formats, maintain electronic and hard-copy files, coordinate calendars, schedules, meeting logistics, travel arrangements, perform set up and tear down activities for multiple conference rooms, and order supplies. The selected candidate may serve as an escort to visitors and uncleared and or L-cleared personnel. The Administrative Assistant will serve as a resource for staff regarding established administrative policies and procedures. You will be expected to foster a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.

**Additional Job Requirements for Administrative Assistant 3:**
+ Experience in coordinating meetings or events
+ Experience in providing administrative services, including general office management
+ Excellent oral and written skills, including proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, accuracy, and attention to detail
+ Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and follow-through on assigned tasks
+ Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, MS Teams, etc.)
+ Excellent record of professional behavior, dependability, availability, and punctuality
**Education/Experience:** Position requires a High School Diploma and 3 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
**Desired Qualifications**
+ Experience with LANL Lab-wide systems (Oracle, Time and Labor, Concur, Foreign Travel, FVTS) and SharePoint
+ Experience with procurement/DPR responsibilities
+ Experience with and knowledge of the Laboratory's visitor, guest and foreign visits and assignments programs and process
+ Active Q clearance

**Work Location:** The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
**Position commitment:** Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

**Clearance: Q** (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 ( for additional information.
**New-Employment Drug Test:** The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
**Regular position:** Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
