Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic Design & Construction Director to join our Essentials Portfolio team. In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the broader Franchise Organization team where you’ll be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company. Qualifications:

The Director of Design & Construction will oversee assigned hotel projects as the brand expert for Hyatt. Using established standards and guidelines to advise owners and consultants through active listening and thoughtful communication. Additionally, this team member will influence and carry out forward thinking initiatives and evolving brand updates relating to the role's responsibilities.

• Lead project reviews and dialogue to assist architects, contractors, and other outside consultants throughout the design & construction process.
• Be fully knowledgeable and conversant on Hyatt's established brand components, design documents and technical standards.
• Ensure adherence of standards are met in all phases of the project cycle through hotel opening.
• Liaise and interface with hotel project team in a collaborative, team-focused manner.
• Conduct strategic and valuable site visits both in person and virtually to oversee the construction process and guide projects successfully.
• Help determine in collaboration with internal development teams appropriate opportunities, boundaries, and flexibility for projects to be successful.
• Be knowledgeable and continue to learn about best practices, industry standards and new products as it relates to hotel design & construction.
• Assist in revising, maintaining, and evolving prototypical documentation, standards, and processes.
• Work in a cross-functional manner with internal teams to understand managed and franchised hotel design and operations holistically.
  
  

Qualifications

Experience Required:

• 10 years with long tenure working for or with hotel brands focusing on design and/or construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, interior architecture or related field required.
  
  

Experience Preferred:

• Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
• Construction certifications and/or architecture license.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Blubeam Revu, Autodesk AutoCAD, Smartsheet
  
  

Additional Comments:

• Ability to travel throughout the Americas approximately 30-40%.
• Must understand architectural drawings/specifications and have familiarity with ADA/IBC regulations.
• Knowledge of various building types, MEP systems, construction planning processes and cost methods.
• Management, people leadership or mentor experience is valued.

The salary range for this position is $108,500 to $145,000. This position is also eligible to earn incentive awards and an annual bonus. The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the minimum local wage rate.
