Job Title: Director of Information Technology / Information Security Officer
Department: IT
Reports To: Vice President of Technology
SUMMARY
The Director of Information Technology / Information Security Officer (ISO) leads the organization’s IT strategy, operations and cybersecurity program. This role is responsible for reliable, secure and scalable technology services while establishing and maintaining an enterprise information security program that reduces risk, supports compliance obligations and enables business goals. The position serves as a key liaison across all departments, leveraging technology to enable football and business operations and maintain a sustained competitive advantage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Lead day-to-day IT operations and service delivery, providing operational continuity across the organization, including Virginia Mason Athletic Center, Lumen Field and retail locations
  • Direct project execution by providing prioritization, coordination, accountability and follow-through to ensure delivery on time and within budget
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the NFL for technology initiatives, coordination and implementation of new league-driven solutions
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships across all departments; assess, recommend and implement technology and AI solutions aligned with organizational needs
  • Evaluate and pilot AI-enabled IT operations and work with IT Team to establish standards for AI tool adoption across the organization (approved tools, licensing, configuration baselines and support model)
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, AI/automation roadmap and cybersecurity developments; advise leadership on strategic, financial and competitive impact
  • Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets; negotiate vendor contracts and oversee vendor performance
  • Provide regular executive-level reporting and metrics on IT performance, risk posture and major initiatives
  • Manage, mentor and develop IT staff, including performance reviews, coaching and creating growth opportunities
  • Lead, implement and maintain an organization-wide information security program (policies, controls and oversight) to ensure compliance with league standards
  • Promote a culture of strong security practices; ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, PII and NFL ISRI requirements
  • Maintain an enterprise risk register including software/AI inventory; drive remediation priorities based on risk impact and business needs
  • Oversee and actively participate in NFL risk assessments and audits
  • Partner with Legal on privacy requirements and secure handling of sensitive data
  • Lead data governance practices including classification, retention, encryption and DLP strategy
  • Support NFL information security audits for the Seahawks and Lumen Field; develop and submit remediation plans for all audit findings
  • Review SOC reports and ensure appropriate controls for vendors handling sensitive or regulated data
  • Travel as required for training, conferences and league events
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Technology

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or equivalent experience
  • Security and/or IT certifications (one or more): CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, GIAC, Security+, ITIL, Microsoft/AWS certs.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ work experience within Information Technology with at least 5 years in management and strategic experience within an Information Technology setting
  • Experience leading audits/compliance programs (SOC 2, ISO, HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
  • Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud) and modern endpoint management (MDM/MAM)
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate group meetings
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise IT operations (identity, endpoints, networking, cloud/SaaS, backups, patching)
  • Demonstrated ability to build security programs (policies, controls, risk assessments, incident response, vendor risk)
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors and service delivery in a business-critical environment
  • Strong communication skills; able to explain risk and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • The salary range for this position is: $175,000 – $225,000. The salary range applies to the current posting. The posted salary range may vary based on key factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related knowledge, experience and skill set.
