Job Description

Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for leading and executing the day-to-day HR functions at the assigned Sunny Sky Products (SSP) manufacturing plant(s). This role partners closely with plant leadership to foster a high-performance culture built on our Core Principles, ensuring best-in-class programs for team members. Key responsibilities include talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, safety leadership, compliance, and benefits administration. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in building an engaged, high-performing workforce while ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory, and company policies.

Major Job Functions

 

  • Actively participate in plant audits and serve as a champion for safety initiatives, promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Lead and facilitate the full cycle recruiting process for all local positions, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding qualified candidates in collaboration with department managers.
  • Partner with Corporate HR to ensure pre-employment processes, background checks, and eligibility verifications are completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide guidance to employees on HR-related matters including compensation, leave, benefits, and workplace policies; resolve employee concerns promptly.
  • Enhance job satisfaction through timely resolution of issues, implementation of employee engagement initiatives, and organization of culture-building activities.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation, employee recognition programs, and recommend improvements that reinforce our Core Principles.
  • Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary actions, investigations, performance management, morale, occupational health and safety, and training.
  • Participate in and support disciplinary meetings, terminations, and workplace investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review and update policies to maintain compliance and align with best practices.
  • Stay informed on HR trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Educate employees on benefit options, enrollment processes, and eligibility requirements.
  • Deliver HR and safety training programs to employees and managers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee transactions, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices at the federal, state, and local levels.

 

 

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in an HR Generalist role, with at least 3 years of experience supporting HR compliance and practices within the state of employment.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of state-specific and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/talent management systems; experience with UKG preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • SHRM certification preferred
