Spalding, a Saalex Company  is seeking a  Junior Software Engineer/Developer  in  Patuxent River, MD . Position Type:  Full-Time

Salary:  $60k-$115k (depending on experience)

Work Location:  Hybrid remote/in-office (see onsite requirements below).

**On-Site Requirements:  Position will require on-site work at Patuxent River, MD one - two days per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.

Essential Functions:  

• Use modern tech stack to develop software applications/systems.
• Package subsets of data into microservices to implement API management tools for transferring data.
• Assist with modernizing legacy applications to a cloud environment.
• Utilize GitLab to maintain source control and to deploy code through a CI/CD pipeline.
• Work with applications and data in a containerized environment.
• Design, develop, and deploy relational and multidimensional databases.
• Perform unit testing using Python and/or React.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Required:

• Experience developing web applications utilizing full-stack technologies (JavaScript, React framework, SQL database development) required.
• Minimum of AS/AA degree and 1-year related experience OR BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline accepted in lieu of experience. Preferred BA/BS degree in related field and at least 3 years’ experience.

Desired:

• AWS Native Services, OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes, and/or Microservice experience highly desired.
• Working knowledge of DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) experience a plus.
• Agile software development experience highly desired.
• AWS certification highly desired.

Security Clearance:  

Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Active Secret clearance desired, interim Secret acceptable to start. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education/Experience:

Minimum of AS/AA degree and 1-year related experience OR BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline accepted in lieu of experience. Preferred BA/BS degree in related field and at least 3 years’ experience.
