The role

A working supervisor with oversight of all facility maintenance, automation maintenance and parts handling rebuild related activities. Responsible for day-to-day operational maintenance expectations of each area of the department. Responsible for coaching and mentoring the personnel in the department and for enforcement of all Company policies, including Safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards and Safe Quality Food policies and procedures across all shifts.

As an Maintenance Manager at IPL you will :

Department Management
  • Maintain Machine Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance and Cleaning department schedules and ensure adequate coverage is met on all shifts.
  • Delegate maintenance and cleaning tasks to appropriate team members.
  • Monitor safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor smoking and break spaces.
  • Provide and maintain a schedule for emergency/on-call repair and cleaning needs.
  • Staff any open positions for all shifts with Human Resources.
  • Conduct annual Performance Evaluations for all Building Maintenance and Cleaning personnel. Set annual goals and objectives for all Machine Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance and Cleaning personnel.
Maintenance Management
  • Perform routine maintenance on and around facility, making and scheduling repairs as needed.
  • Manage PM program in its entirety.
  • Schedule routine inspection and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Ensure proper security measures for the workplace, including collaboration with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
  • Maintain day-to-day facility operations ensuring completion of maintenance orders.
  • Create and maintain reports related to maintenance repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff members.
  • Prepare facility for changing weather conditions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to create budget for facility needs.
Preventative Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Machine Repair
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Plan, schedule and complete machine repairs and PM’s of production equipment.
  • Support and provide guidance to Machine Maintenance Technicians in performance of repairs and maintenance related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Visually inspect malfunctioning machines and assist Machine Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting the issues to determine the root cause of the malfunction.
  • Analyze electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems and determine proper solution to fix the issue.
  • Perform maintenance projects as assigned. o May necessitate occasional work on the exterior building roof or exterior silos.

  • Operate equipment such as bobcat, scissors lift, forklift.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to make decisions in time sensitive and time critical situations.
  • Ability to learn quickly and with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve during troubleshooting situations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • At least three (3) years leadership/supervisory experience
  • Demonstration of knowledge regarding various tools used in facilities/building maintenance.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
