Our client, an AM 100 law firm, is seeking a Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with a minimum of three years of experience to join its nationally recognized Intellectual Property team. This position is available in any of the firms offices in Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Boston.

Key Practice Areas:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in one or more of the following technology areas:

5G/6G telecommunications

Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning

Automotive and electric vehicle technologies

Video encoding

Software and computer systems

Qualifications:

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field is required.

Admission to the U.S. Patent Bar is required.

At least three years of experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications.

Strong academic credentials, attention to detail, and excellent writing and organizational skills.

Intellectual curiosity and a desire to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative law firm environment.

Experience in automotive or mechanical technologies is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with patent databases and search tools.

Experience managing global patent portfolios and conducting freedom-to-operate and infringement analyses.

Strong oral communication skills and the ability to interact directly with inventors, scientists, and clients.

Ability to work cross-functionally with legal and technical teams and provide strategic patent counseling.

This is a client-facing role offering a blend of responsibility, independence, and mentorship within a supportive, high-performing team.
