Job Summary

As a Research Scientist I you will work independently and with other members of the research team to complete a variety of ongoing research projects. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join Dr. Rhonda Prisby’s laboratory to conduct basic science research and day-to-day laboratory tasks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Laboratory management (e.g., coordinating research studies, training other personnel on laboratory procedures and techniques, ordering supplies, lab cleanliness and organization, etc.).
  • Data collection:
    • construct, assemble, and operate experimental or specially designed laboratory equipment.
  • Data analysis:
    • Interpretation of data gathered through the use of analytical and logical reasoning.
  • Animal handling and related surgeries.
  • Display competence in critical thinking and troubleshooting.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Biology, Bioengineering, or another related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology, Biology, Bioengineering, or another related field.
  • Previous experience or completion of animal research projects.
  • Previous laboratory management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Data management and analysis skills.
