Safety Coordinator Details:

• Temp-to-Hire position
• $22.00 to $25.00 /hour
• Full Time work available
• First Shift (Monday through Friday from 07:00am to 04:00pm)

• Under direct supervision, perform a variety of clerical duties and technical tasks for the Safety Department.
• Compile and maintain records of safety transactions and office activities
• Process Work injuries: authorize clinic visits, track follow-up appointments, find and track restrictive duty assignments, first report of injury form & file insurance claims.
• Maintain OSHA log information in electronic records management
• Monitor the Deister IDEM program for required inspections and waste counts.
• Updates employee rosters for Toolbox Huddles, trainings, and certifications (i.e. forklift driver lists, first aid).
• Schedule follow-up and make-up hearing tests for individual employees (OSHA Hearing Conservation Program)
• And other Safety Management Tasks

Safety Coordinator Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years in Occupational Safety & Health experience, preferably in manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Experience with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word and Publisher.
