What To Expect
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Capital Equipment Supply Chain Manager to join Tesla’s team. You will support our global Manufacturing and Engineering groups by sourcing powertrain manufacturing and electronics test equipment for current and future projects. Role can be based out of Austin, TX, Fremont, CA, or Sparks, NV.
What You'll Do Manage RFQs and contracts, ensuring Non-Disclosure Agreements and Terms & Conditions are negotiated and documentedCollaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify capable suppliers, enforce sourcing best practices, and recommend suppliers based on quote analysisBuild strong supplier relationships to meet supply, quality, cost, and delivery goalsInfluence projects early to optimize outcomes, support escalations, and ensure supplier adherence to Tesla’s specifications and schedulesNegotiate pricing and terms, issue purchase orders, and support cost management and design changesDevelop technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, technology, and supply base for assigned sub-systems
What You'll Bring Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience5+ years in Commercial Relations, Sourcing, Procurement, or Program ManagementKnowledge of legal contracts and commercial agreementsExpertise in should-cost estimates, supplier proposal analysis, and manufacturing cost breakdownsStrong communication skills to engage with supplier executives and resolve project-level tensionsProficient in Excel, MS Office, and ERP/MRP purchasing systemsAbility to work independently with cross-functional teams, including Engineers and Supply ChainWillingness to travel up to 25%
