Job Summary 

As a Collector, you will be responsible for managing and recovering outstanding debts on behalf of our clients. You will engage with debtors through various communication channels, negotiate repayment plans, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Your goal will be to recover debts while maintaining a positive relationship with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact debtors via phone, email, and written correspondence to collect outstanding debts.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and establish repayment plans with debtors.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all communications and transactions in our database.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to accounts.
  • Follow up on payment commitments and ensure timely collections.
  • Comply with all federal and state collection laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve collection strategies and practices.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while addressing debtor inquiries and concerns.
  • Prepare reports on collection activities and account status as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in finance or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in collections, customer service, or sales is preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with collection software.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., FDCPA, FCRA) is a plus.
