Job Description

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings that has been servicing the oil and gas industry for over 70 years. SFI is seeking a hands-on experienced cost accountant to manage the cost related activities and manage select day-to-day accounting and administrative functions of the company. Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data regarding Company’s operational costs.
• Establish standard costs of manufactured goods for customer pricing.
• Collect and analyze job cost data and maintain company pricing matrices.
• Analyze cost standards and recommend methods for allocating costs to products.
• Monthly reconciliation of material receipts to general ledger inventory activity.
• Monthly inventory analysis and valuation.
• Preparation and presentation of financial reports for ownership and BOD.
• Ensures collection and payment of applicable local, parish and state taxes.
• Responsible for monthly local, parish and state sales tax compliance and filings.
• Responsible for accurate and timely filing of property tax valuations.
• Backup for critical H/R, A/P and A/R functions including processing payroll.
• Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 7-10 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to analyze financial results and explain variances in a clear and concise manner.
• Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced MS Suite and Excel skills (charts, pivots tables, and advanced formulas).
• Data visualization software knowledge and experience.
• Strong time management, organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Deadline oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Must be extremely detail oriented.
