Job Description

Position Summary  

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Podcast Showrunner to lead the creative and production process for My Price is My Life . The ideal candidate is a storyteller, producer, and strategist who can oversee the podcast from concept to distribution, ensuring each episode is compelling, on-brand, and flawlessly executed. You will manage a small team, book guests, shape narratives, and make editorial decisions that elevate the show's impact. The expectation is to run two live shows weekly.

Key Responsibilities  

• Lead the full production lifecycle: pitch development, pre-production, scripting, recording, post-production, and publishing 

• Shape and maintain the editorial vision and tone of the show 

• Manage episode planning, calendars, and deadlines 

• Identify, vet, and book compelling guests aligned with the show's themes 

• Write or oversee scripting of host copy, episode outlines, and promotional materials 

• Coordinate with editors, sound designers, and marketing teams 

• Conduct research and prep for interviews and story arcs 

• Maintain consistency in audio quality, pacing, and storytelling 

• Monitor metrics, audience feedback, and analytics to refine content 

• Ensure legal and ethical editorial standards are met 

• Lead regular team meetings and serve as the primary point of contact for the show 

Requirements  

• Proven experience as a showrunner, podcast producer, or senior audio storyteller 

• Strong background in journalism, narrative podcasting, or documentary storytelling 

• Excellent editorial judgment and story development skills 

• Skilled in scripting, outlining, and guiding narrative structure 

• Familiarity with audio production tools (e.g., Descript, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, etc.) 

• Ability to manage multiple projects and hit tight deadlines 

• Comfortable engaging with controversial or sensitive topics with professionalism 

• Excellent interpersonal skills for guest booking and team collaboration 

• Deep understanding of podcast and media trends 

• Strong organizational and leadership abilities 

Preferred Qualifications  

• Experience producing investigative or political content 

• Strong network of potential guests, journalists, or contributors 

• Background in content marketing or social media promotion of podcasts 

• Experience working in startup, mission-driven, or alternative media spaces
