Summary

Do you love working with young children and helping them foster their love of learning? We are looking for a substitute teacher to work occasionally when our teachers and assistants need to be out and for the lunch hour during our monthly staff meetings. You might be called that morning or get scheduled in advance. Great job for a little extra money.

Duties

• Assist in implementing the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher.
• Assist in preparing the learning environment, set up learning centers, and prepare needed materials and supplies, including copying, laminating, and preparing for after school activities.
• Supervise the classroom when the lead teacher is out of the room or absent.
• Help with the general housekeeping tasks.
• Assist the lead teacher in any other way.
• Maintain confidentiality of children, parents and fellow staff members.
• Maintain professional attitudes and loyalty to the program at all times.
• Treat all of the children with dignity and respect.
• Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
• Complete required 15 hours in-service training per year.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Some professional childcare experience in a childcare setting.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the needs of others, and be able to relate well to children.
• Must clear full background check.
• Must have, or be willing to get, DCF required 45 hours.
